The facility features three residential homes along with one main building dedicated to therapeutic and wellness activities. The foundation of Alta Loma’s approach is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), aimed at helping clients reshape their thought processes, thereby enhancing self-esteem, instilling hope, and fostering a positive outlook on life. Their Truthought program emphasizes the development of constructive behaviors and enduring changes for effective recovery. Clients typically participate in two or more individual therapy sessions and at least one psychiatric appointment each week. The program also covers essential life skills, focusing on communication, self-awareness, modifying thought patterns, identifying triggers, and acquiring job and household skills.
