Adolescent Wellness Academy (AWA) provides extensive outpatient services tailored specifically for adolescents and teenagers aged 13 to 17, focusing on mental health support as well as co-occurring issues such as substance use disorder (SUD). Their holistic approach combines customized evidence-based individual therapy and group sessions, along with engaging experiential activities and academic assistance, all within a framework that prioritizes family involvement. The skilled multidisciplinary team collaborates with both clients and their families, enabling young people to develop resilience, promote self-awareness, and strengthen connections with peers and family members in a nurturing and healing atmosphere. The therapeutic day program at AWA represents their most intensive care option, also referred to as a partial hospitalization program (PHP). This program provides a structured environment similar to residential treatment while allowing participants to stay at home. It includes 8 hours of daily treatment, five days a week, featuring one hour of individual therapy, four hours of group sessions based on extensive evidence, and 2-3 hours of educational support from an academic coordinator to help teens maintain their academic progress. Clients also receive a weekly psychiatric evaluation to monitor their development and make necessary adjustments to their treatment strategies. Nutritional guidance and support are also available, with meals and snacks provided daily. Teens typically participate in the PHP for a duration of 4 to 12 weeks before moving on to an intensive outpatient program (IOP). The IOP takes place in the afternoons and addresses adolescents facing mild symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, behavioral challenges, or SUD. This after-school program runs for 3 hours a day, 3 to 5 days a week, comprising two group sessions each day. Participants can engage in experiential activities like music, yoga, and mindfulness, and have access to designated study areas to work on school assignments. The anticipated duration for participation in IOP is between 10 to 16 weeks. Family engagement is a core component of treatment at AWA, highlighting the crucial role of parents and caregivers in their teen’s recovery journey. AWA hosts a weekly support group for parents, monthly multi-family meetings, and offers clinical assistance for managing crises. Additionally, families are encouraged to take part in regular family therapy sessions.
The rehabilitation center focuses on addressing mental health challenges alongside substance use disorders. Here, you will benefit from personalized and cooperative care designed to tackle both concerns, promoting comprehensive healing for the individual.
