Bridges of Dodge County, often referred to as Joe’s House, serves as a faith-based sober living facility located on the north side of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Established in December 2015, the center accommodates up to eight individuals at a time. Its program spans 6 to 8 months, during which residents are guided in key areas such as parenting, career skills, financial literacy, health maintenance, and securing permanent housing. The program engages with probation officers to assist clients involved with the justice system. The philosophy of Bridges is rooted in the notion that faith bolsters recovery. The center draws inspiration from Matthew 19:26, emphasizing that “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Staff members encourage residents to nurture a personal connection with Jesus as they pursue sobriety and stability. Bridges collaborates with the local chapter of the United Way to enhance its community support. To foster discipline and stability, Bridges implements a structured daily routine. Residents are required to return to the house by 10:30 p.m. on weekdays and 11:30 p.m. on weekends. Regular drug screenings are conducted to uphold sobriety, while alcohol, drugs, nicotine, and vaping are strictly prohibited. Residents participate in house classes, group discussions, church services, and household responsibilities. Although 12-Step meetings are not officially included in the program, residents have the option to attend external meetings that align with their schedule. Bridges encourages meaningful, in-person engagement among residents. While phone usage is permitted, staff request that calls occur in private spaces like room or porch. Maintaining high standards of hygiene and contributing to the house's serene environment is essential, as it promotes respectful and responsible community living. By the fourth week, each individual is expected to secure a same-gender sponsor who is familiar with their recovery journey. The house manager may reach out to these sponsors for coordination of support, fostering accountability and assistance that aids residents in maintaining their recovery focus post-program. Bridges of Dodge County employs a phased recovery model, guiding residents through personal study and life planning. As they advance through phases, they gain increased independence. Financial responsibility is emphasized, as families and friends may cover the initial admission costs and first four weeks of care, after which residents are responsible for their expenses. This aspect of the program is crucial for cultivating financial independence and responsibility, which are vital for sustained recovery and future success.
The focus of this center is on addressing substance use disorders, guiding individuals to achieve stability, develop strategies for preventing relapse, and access empathetic support.
At Bridges of Dodge County, we understand that the journey to recovery is both a personal and financial commitment. While we do not accept insurance directly, we offer flexible payment options to accommodate our residents. Families and friends can contribute by covering a resident’s admission and the initial four weeks of care. After this period, residents are expected to assume financial responsibility for their ongoing care. This model not only promotes accountability but also helps residents develop essential financial management skills that are crucial for long-term success and stability after leaving our program. We encourage prospective residents and their families to discuss funding arrangements and explore potential community resources that may assist in covering costs. For any further inquiries regarding payment options or financial assistance, please feel free to contact our team at Bridges of Dodge County. We are here to support you as you embark on this transformative journey toward recovery.
