Cumberland Heights is an outpatient treatment facility that utilizes a 12-step approach for adults struggling with alcohol and substance use issues. With 15 outpatient locations throughout Tennessee, as well as two dedicated 12-step immersion retreats and a residential center, Cumberland Heights has been serving the community since 1966 as a non-profit entity focused on personalized care that meets the distinct needs of each individual in their recovery process. The center employs a variety of evidence-based therapies to enhance treatment outcomes, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and facilitation of the 12-step program. They also incorporate experiential therapies such as adventure therapy, art therapy, music therapy, recreational therapy, mindfulness practices, spiritual support, and yoga, along with the option of telehealth services. Cumberland Heights holds the distinction of being the first addiction treatment center in Tennessee to gain certification from the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and is recognized nationally for its leadership in addiction recovery. It is also accredited by the Joint Commission and works with a majority of major insurance plans while offering reasonable self-pay options to improve access to treatment. The facility in Cookeville provides intensive outpatient services on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The Rehabilitation Center specializes in addressing substance abuse issues along with associated mental health disorders. Each individual's treatment strategy is designed to tackle both challenges simultaneously, ensuring a tailored and empathetic approach for thorough recovery.
