Durant Behavioral Health (Wind Horse Counseling), situated in the southwestern area of the Choctaw Nation, provides a range of mental health services designed for individuals, families, and couples. The center addresses various issues such as substance abuse, anxiety, depression, trauma, and interpersonal difficulties. Native Americans from any federally recognized tribe—who possess a CDIB card, tribal membership document, or proof of descent—are eligible for services, which usually do not require out-of-pocket payments. Offered services encompass therapy for all age groups, crisis intervention, and online consultations. The center employs various therapeutic techniques, including play therapy tailored for children with special needs, peer support specifically for veterans, and comprehensive case management. These methods aim to help clients develop healthy coping mechanisms, enhance their relationships, and boost overall mental wellness. By providing an extensive array of therapies, the center is committed to delivering personalized care that meets the distinct needs of each individual. Additionally, Durant Behavioral Health is involved in specialized initiatives such as the Tribal Opioid Response grant, which offers support to those impacted by opioid use through medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to alleviate withdrawal symptoms and cravings. The center also partners with the Warrior Wellness program, delivering culturally relevant services for Native American veterans, which include equine therapy, family retreats, and peer support options. Generally, services are not accessible to individuals outside the tribal community, with some limited exceptions.
The Rehabilitation Center specializes in addressing issues related to substance use and mental health challenges. Here, you can expect personalized treatment tailored to your specific needs and circumstances, acquire essential skills for your recovery journey, and form supportive relationships in a healing atmosphere.
Individuals of Native American descent who possess a CDIB card, a Membership card, or documentation of ancestry from a federally recognized tribe are qualified to receive services. We support various payment options, including Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, and offer assistance for those who are uninsured.
