Embark at Atlanta employs a combination of evidence-based and holistic approaches to support adolescents and young adults facing challenges related to mental health, addiction, or behavioral issues. Each patient, along with their family, receives a tailored treatment plan designed to address their unique circumstances. These plans may feature various therapeutic techniques such as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), attachment theory, experiential therapies, and SMART Recovery for addiction. This array of methods targets numerous mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), borderline personality disorder (BPD), bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), trauma, and various addiction issues. The skilled team at Embark is also equipped to help with challenges like social isolation, bullying, internet or gaming addiction, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), reactive attachment disorder (RAD), as well as issues related to self-harm or suicidal thoughts. The partial hospitalization program (PHP) at Embark, known as the therapeutic day program, represents the highest level of care available. This program is especially beneficial for individuals transitioning from residential treatment or those needing more intensive support than what outpatient services offer. Typically, this day treatment involves 27-30 hours of therapy spread across five days each week, allowing participants to maintain their home living arrangements. In addition to individualized, group, and family therapy, Embark provides educational services that enable students to keep up with their studies and earn transferable credits. For those requiring a less intensive commitment, the intensive outpatient program (IOP) lets participants maintain their customized treatment while attending therapy sessions. IOP is primarily group-oriented, involving attendance of sessions three to four days a week, each lasting three hours. Patients also continue their individual and family therapy sessions as part of the IOP, which is scheduled in the evenings to better fit around school and work commitments. This flexibility allows young people and their families to receive essential treatment without neglecting daily responsibilities. As patients progress and seek lighter care levels, Embark's continuum of care offers weekly or bi-weekly outpatient therapy options as well as virtual or in-home counseling for individuals and families.
