Imani is a rehabilitation center situated in Wynberg, Cape Town, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, orthorexia, and others. The center provides both inpatient and outpatient treatment options. The inpatient program is carefully structured, with patients eating their meals and snacks at designated times each day under the guidance of counselors or recovery assistants. Individuals participate in individual and group therapy, as well as engage in various holistic therapies and physical activities. The program also incorporates dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), art therapy, yoga, 12-Step fellowships, and support groups focused on eating disorders. Imani places a strong emphasis on involving family members in the recovery process, allowing them to take part in visitations, therapeutic family meals, and family therapy sessions.
