They offer support for a variety of issues, including anger, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, grief, OCD, panic attacks, personality disorders, PTSD, seasonal affective disorder (SAD), schizophrenia, thoughts of suicide, self-injury, stress, trauma, and substance abuse, among others. The center employs diverse therapeutic approaches, such as individual counseling, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), group sessions, medication supervision, relapse prevention strategies, relaxation techniques, and 12-Step Facilitation. Adult services feature inpatient, day, and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs, with specific focus on Alzheimer’s, dementia, and various other age-related issues for clients aged 55 and older. For youths aged 13 to 17, they provide inpatient care and intensive outpatient programs aimed at mitigating self-harming behavior. At Oceans Behavioral Hospital, the psychiatric team assesses patient progress and medication effectiveness on a daily basis. Clients can monitor their advancements and receive suggested follow-up care through an app called MyChart, accessible via their Ochsner Health account. Oceans Behavioral Hospital has several facilities across Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma, with many centers focusing on mental health needs related to aging or military experience, as well as a growing number that address youth mental health concerns. Ochsner Health also operates multiple locations in Louisiana and Mississippi, providing care for a wide range of general health issues, including various facilities affiliated with LSU throughout the bayou region.
The center provides care for mental health disorders and simultaneous substance use problems. You will undergo tailored treatment that focuses on both aspects, promoting comprehensive recovery.
