Serenity Lane was established by Tom Kerns, motivated by the loss of his father to alcoholism during his youth, with the goal of ensuring that addiction treatment is available to everyone. The center is open for admissions every day of the week, allowing for same-day entry if needed. Serenity Lane Albany features a wide range of outpatient programs catering to those in recovery from substance use disorders, individuals dealing with dual diagnosis issues, and those primarily facing mental health challenges. The center’s Level II Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) spans ten weeks and includes group therapy sessions, individual counseling, and education on addiction and substance use disorders. Therapy groups convene three times weekly for three-hour sessions each. To accommodate different schedules, Serenity Lane runs both morning and evening groups in a hybrid format, combining in-person and virtual attendance. Family support sessions take place online every Monday from 6 PM to 9 PM. In the Level I outpatient program, participants engage in 1.5-hour sessions once or twice a week over a duration of 12 to 24 months. This program includes group, one-on-one, and family counseling with the patient’s primary counselor, focusing on helping individuals recognize and navigate challenging life situations while developing coping mechanisms during the initial stages of recovery. The program is also offered in a hybrid format, featuring separate telehealth sessions for men and women. Serenity Lane's DUII education and diversion programs hold certification from the state of Oregon, ensuring compliance with all court and DMV mandates. These programs provide certified diversion, treatment groups, and educational resources for those requiring mandated treatment, including the “Blue Flag” program to track and report patient attendance and progress. The center also provides a family program at no additional cost, which focuses on education, therapy, and support to mend family dynamics and communication. Family members, including spouses and significant others, are welcome to join the family support group on Mondays from 6 PM to 9 PM, and sessions can be arranged with the patient’s primary counselor as needed. Additionally, Serenity Lane offers specialized training for businesses through its employer services program. Training emphasizes identifying signs of substance misuse, managing FMLA, reintegrating employees into the workplace, and more. Serenity Lane hosts engaging events, recovery support meetings for alumni, volunteer opportunities, and resources for advancing in recovery through its alumni services, with several virtual options available.
At this center, we specialize in addressing substance use disorders alongside concurrent mental health issues. Our tailored treatment plans focus on both conditions simultaneously, providing compassionate care aimed at holistic recovery.
At Serenity Lane, we work with a variety of insurance providers. Our Program Manager is available to talk about treatment expenses and what your insurance may cover. We also provide programs at a lower cost based on your financial circumstances, and flexible payment options are offered.
