Stonington Institute has established a rich legacy in the field of recovery since its inception in 1957 under the name Starlight Farms. It has evolved into a vital resource for individuals confronting addiction and mental health challenges, including PTSD. Currently, the center provides a wide range of programs that are rooted in the 12 Steps philosophy. Among these offerings are residential detox services, extended residential treatment, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) that includes a supportive sober living environment, and various outpatient options. In addition, Stonington Institute features a dedicated program for active duty service members and veterans. This initiative is tailored to address the distinctive obstacles faced by military personnel, such as substance use disorders, PTSD, and other psychological concerns. The program employs a holistic treatment approach that combines therapy and support networks specifically designed to meet the needs of those who have served in the armed forces.
The center specializes in the treatment of substance use disorders alongside concurrent mental health issues. Every individual receives a tailored treatment plan that simultaneously addresses both conditions, ensuring a holistic approach to recovery through empathetic and dedicated care.
Stonington is open to individuals using private payment options as well as many leading insurance plans, including TRICARE®, previously referred to as CHAMPUS.
