YSS of Boone County is a dedicated facility aimed at assisting young people and their families in Boone County, Iowa. The center provides a variety of behavioral health services, including mental health therapy, substance use treatment, psychiatric evaluations and medication management, behavioral health interventions, integrated health solutions, as well as an access and visitation program. They also offer specialized therapies for families and children, such as parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), multidimensional family therapy (MDFT), and play therapy. Additionally, YSS of Boone County features a transitional living program and a rapid rehousing initiative. The transitional living program offers a safe space for homeless youth and young adults (ages 16-21), providing individualized support to help them achieve their personal goals. Participants can remain in the program for up to 18 months and are encouraged to save a portion of their income for future use. Youth aged 18-24 are eligible for the rapid rehousing program, which allows them to live independently in their own apartments under a lease in their name, with rent assistance available for up to 12 months. For those who have experienced human trafficking, YSS covers all rent and utility costs for a full year.
